Project Spotlight: Structures A&E
Structures A&E is a landmark offshore development project in Libya, representing the first major gas initiative in the country since the early 2000s. This strategic partnership between Eni and the National Oil Corporation of Libya (NOC) is an $8 billion investment designed to bolster domestic energy supplies and secure gas exports to Europe.
Key Project Highlights:
Production Capacity: Target output of 750 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
Timeline: Production is scheduled to commence in 2026.
Infrastructure: Development of two offshore structures ("A" and "E") tied into the existing Mellitah Complex.
Sustainability: Includes a state-of-the-art Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facility to minimise the project's carbon footprint.
Economic & Strategic Impact:
"This agreement will enable important investments in Libya's energy sector, contributing to local development and job creation while strengthening Eni's role as a leading operator in the country."
Claudio Descalzi, Eni CEO
This project reinforces Eni’s position as Libya’s leading international gas producer. By integrating advanced decarbonization technology with large-scale production, Structures A&E serves as a vital pillar for both the Libyan economy and European energy security.
